MY WISHFUL WEDNESDAY ( 6

So, here my new Wishlist :

THE SONG OF ACHILLES by Madeline Miller
Genre : Historical Fiction
Book Review :
Greece in the age of Heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia. Here he is nobody, just another unwanted boy living in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. Achilles, 'best of all the Greeks', is everything Patroclus is not - strong, beautiful, the child of a goddess - and by all rights their paths should never cross. Yet one day, Achilles takes the shamed prince under his wing and soon their tentative companionship gives way to a steadfast friendship. As they grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine, their bond blossoms into something far deeper - despite the displeasure of Achilles's mother Thetis, a cruel and deathly pale sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Fate is never far from the heels of Achilles. When word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, the men of Greece are called upon to lay siege to Troy in her name. Seduced by the promise of a glorious destiny, Achilles joins their cause, Torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus follows Achilles into war, little knowing that the years that follow will test everything they have learned, everything they hold dear. And that, before he is ready, he will be forced to surrender his friend to the hands of Fate. Profoundly moving and breathtakingly original, this rendering of the epic Trojan War is a dazzling feat of the imagination, a devastating love story, and an almighty battle between gods and kings, peace and glory, immortal fame and the human heart.

Why I want this book ?
What can I say ... I just love and crazy all stories about Greece Mythology, Egypt, and Ancient Historical Fiction.

GHOST KNIGHT by Cornelia Funke
Genre : Fantasy
Book Review :
When 11 year old Jon Whitcroft is packed off to boarding school in Salisbury, England (a consequence of having made himself utterly disagreeable to his mother's boyfriend, aka "the Beard"), he is naturally hurt and angry. But soon Jon realizes that boarding school will bring a more pressing problem that will make the possibility of a new stepfather the least of his worries. And it's not the boarding school food, the close quarters, or the boring drone of his teachers.

Nope. Jon's new problem is a ghostly medieval warrior, Lord Stourton, who wants to kill him. Turns out Jon's ancestor was instrumental in getting Stourton hung (deservedly) back in the 16th century...and revenge is still sweet 500 years later.

Jon's classmates and teachers can't see this murderous ghost and his horrible henchman. But one person believes him--a girl named Ella, who has grown up with the ghosts of Salisbury. She leads him to the tomb of the one ghost who might help him--William Longspee, a knight from the 12 century who must atone for his own wrongdoings by helping those in need.

But can Longspee truly be trusted? He did some terrible things in life himself...and possibly in death as well. Faced with the vivid possibility of death at Strouton's ghostly hand, Jon and Ella have little choice--they must call Longspee to aid them. Or else.

Why I want this book ?
I've been fans of Cornelia Funke works, from 'The Dragon Rider", "Reckless", "The Thief Lord" with amazing setting at Venice makes my dreams on travelling Europe eversince I was still High-School, and thanks God with His Blessing I'll gets once chance to visiting the great country  through Europe (^_^), and right now, I've been waiting the sequel of "Inheart" from "The Inworld Trilogy".

WONDERSTRUCK by Brian Selznik
Genre : Sci-Fi Fantasy
Book Review :
Playing with the form he created in his trailblazing debut novel, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Brian Selznick once again sails into uncharted territory and takes readers on an awe-inspiring journey.

A boy named Ben longs for the father he has never known. A girl named Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his mother's room, and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out alone on desperate quests to find what they are missing.

Ben's story, set in 1977, is told entirely with words, while Rose's story, set fifty years earlier, is told entirely with pictures. The two stories weave back and forth before ultimately coming together. Rich, complex, affecting, and beautiful–with over 460 pages of original artwork–Wonderstruck is a stunning achievement from a uniquely gifted artist and visionary.

Why I want this book ?
Eversince I reads "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by Brian Selznick, I'm been searching for his other books, and between them I came across with his latest project "Wonderstruck", stories about two children, one boy, one girl, but they separeted over fifty years apart, but they're on the same place, on the similar situation. And the most interesting part, the book will be two part joined together and they'll meet at the middle of the book ... just can wait to see the book when its finished (^_^)

Well, that my top three right now on the Wishlist, do I have more ? Don't ask, you should know as fellow bookaholic (^_^)  ... c u on the next list !!!

Best Regards,
